It’s been a strange week here in sunny Wales – a holiday week with no cash and lots of tantrums. Still, I have stumbled towards arranging our next few games on Facebook – Firestorm Games Historical Tendency. A number of old faces are coming back to Flames of War with version four launched mid-March, plus a Bolt action revival…and then Tim Madaxeman emailed the below. My confidence in wargaming is revived!
A Message from The British Historical Gaming Society:
It’s now getting close to list-submission time for Roll Call, and with 2 massive fields in 15mm and 25mm there is (un?)fortunately a lot of work for our list checker team (ie me) to do this year.To save you looking them up, the details are:
15mm Competition Rules : 200 point armies with standard sized 200 point tables of 120cm x 80cm. Players must bring their own terrain pieces
25mm Competition – as above, but with a standard 6’x4′ table
15mm Theme: – The 650th anniversary of the Battle of Navarette (where the English under the Black Prince and Don Pedro of Castile defeated the Franco-Castilians) – Any Army Valid in 1367 (please note this date – the initial info had transposed some of the numbers – sorry!)
25mm Theme: – Any army from the Ancient, Classical and Roman themes, only allies from these themes allowed.

In addition there are loads of ADLG events coming up across the UK which you may also want to enter, including;
3-4 June BHGS Presents 25mm & 15mm at the BHGS Challenge@UK Games Expo – a great venue at the NEC and a great chance to showcase our hobby to thousands of potential new wargamers as well.
11-14 August BHGS Presents the 15mm 8-game monster that is Britcon in Manchester
19th March – ADLG comes to the Northern League at The New Headingly Club, 56 St Michaels Road Leeds. A 15mm open period to establish ADLG on the Northern circuit, so please try to make it if you are in the region. Contact Mick Hood for details
19th March – 15mm ADLG for the Southern shandy-drinkers amongst you at the 2nd Central London Invitational
6-7 May – Campaign 3-player team event in Milton Keynes, Contact Darryl Pearce for more details

17-18 June Cry Havok – 15mm feudal (and medieval) action over 5 games in Bristol
1-2 July 15mm Sighian Dubh in Larkhall, Scotland – great trophies last year in Scotlands biggest ADLG outing to date.
With regard to Roll Call, how could I miss the 15mm competition set in my favourite period? I wonder if the competitors will stay in Iberia or cross the continents in search of knight killing elephants! We shall see…
